چکیده

Biosurfactant-expressing bacteria have been shown to potential in many biotechnological applications including the biodegradation of petroleum fractions, such as premium motor spirit (PMS). This study was aimed at investigating use biosurfactant-expressing bacterial isolates (PMS) various concentrations (100-100,000ppm). The were isolated from mechanic workshop Malumfashi, Katsina, Nigeria using standard techniques. identified belonged genera Acinetobacter, Bacillus, Micrococcus, Pseudomonas and Stenotrophomonas. These screened for biosurfactant expression drop collapse, haemolysis, oil–water behavior assays emulsification index test. Positives investigated PMS degradation by growing on mineral salt media supplemented with (0.1ml) sole source carbon. Although, higher total hydrocarbon degrading counts obtained soils where positive are predominant, there no statistically significant difference between isolate Kruskal-Wallis H test (p = 0.67). Bacillus velezensis Stenotrophomonas maltophilia biosurfactant-production drop-collapse, β-haemolysis, oil spreading, collapse tests tolerance up 100,000 ppm. Statistical analysis multiple-comparison variance (ANOVA) confirmed that exhibited varying response 0.0066); furthermore, is dose-dependent 0.00012). Post-hoc Tukey’s most efficient biosurfactant-producing 0.0264 0.0034); moreover, threshold concentration high found be 1000ppm above 0.0174, 0.0008 0.0001).These isolates’ ability grow a carbon presents veritable avenue exploitation biotechnology, towards biosurfactants-mediated bioremediation pollutants contaminated soils.

Kinetics of 1,4-dioxane biodegradation by monooxygenase-expressing bacteria.

1,4-Dioxane is a probable human carcinogen, and an important emerging water contaminant. In this study, the biodegradation of dioxane by 20 bacterial isolates was evaluated, and 13 were found to be capable of transforming dioxane. Dioxane served as a growth substrate for Pseudonocardia dioxanivorans CB1190 and Pseudonocardia benzenivorans B5, with yields of 0.09 g protein g dioxane(-1) and 0.03...
